Ike Eickerman and Jim Meskan representing the LRWC cooked up 90 Ribeye steaks and 24 chicken breasts for Hewes Craft employees on Thursday the 25th of April. Hewes Craft had the highest boat sales of any manufacturer in the Northwest last year and broke a boat sales record in March so the barbeque lunch was a company celebration of its employees and their hard work. Everyone gave a big Thanks to the walleye club for helping out and we got many compliments on making the perfect steak. Dave Hewes was very appreciative for our services and was very happy that this big event went perfectly.

Lake visitors are "very appreciative" to see these offered at some of the local lakes stated Carmen.
Years ago during the Governor's Cup Walleye Tournament we helped Professor Al Sholtz from Eastern Washington University and his fisheries class. Fisheries students were placed in "weigh" boats with club members and as fishermen brought their walleye to the boats students took vital statistics on each walleye, floy tagged them and released them. In the 90's, club members fished for walleye on the Spokane River in May and helped to catch walleye for a population estimate study being conducted by Eastern Washington University. This year, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has requested our assistance in stocking Liberty Lake near Spokane with Tournament caught walleye to help reduce the exploding numbers of stunted yellow perch in the lake.
