Ike Eickerman and Jim Meskan from the LRWC expertly prepared 90 Ribeye steaks and 24 chicken breasts for the dedicated employees of Hewes Craft on Thursday, April 25th. Celebrating their remarkable achievement, Hewes Craft recorded the highest boat sales of any manufacturer in the Northwest last year and set a new boat sales record in March. This barbeque lunch served as a festive recognition of the hard work put in by the team. A big thanks was extended to the walleye club for their support, and we received numerous compliments on our perfectly cooked steaks. Dave Hewes expressed his gratitude for our services and was thrilled that the event went off without a hitch.

They are next to the courtesy lifejacket station at the Pierre Lake boat launch. According to Carmen, lake visitors express that they are 'very appreciative' to see these lifejackets offered at some of the local lakes.

Years ago, during the Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament, we assisted Professor Al Sholtz from Eastern Washington University and his fisheries class. Fisheries students were placed in 'weigh' boats alongside club members, and as fishermen brought their walleye to the boats, students recorded vital statistics on each walleye, floy-tagged them, and released them. In the 90s, club members fished for walleye on the Spokane River in May and contributed to a population estimate study conducted by Eastern Washington University. This year, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has requested our help in stocking Liberty Lake near Spokane with tournament-caught walleye to address the rapidly increasing numbers of stunted yellow perch in the lake.
